Boat-ferry collision on Assam’s Brahmaputra, many feared missing

Many passengers are feared missing after two boats collided on the Brumbraputra river in the northeastern state of Assam. The two boats are believed to have had more than a hundred passengers. The incident took place on the Brahmaputra river near Jorhat Nimati Ghat around 4:30 pm on Wednesday.

According to news sources, a video of the incident has been released. The video shows a boat capsizing. After the incident, NDRF and SDRF teams started rescuing the missing persons. It is learned that the ferry was coming from Majuli towards Nimti Ghat and the other was going in the opposite direction. It is known that a boat sinks when it collides with each other. Many passengers fell into the river due to the impact. It is known that 1 person has died. Many are missing.
