Sonam Wangchuk breaks hunger strike, Centre’s assurance to meet Ladakh authorities in December

Sonam Wangchuk finally broke the 16-day hunger strike. According to several media sources, The actual ‘rancho’ relaxed the hunger strike after the Center assured to sit for face-to-face talks on Ladakh-related demands.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk sat on hunger strike in front of Delhi’s Ladakh Bhavan since October 6 due to multiple demands related to Ladakh. Earlier, the Delhi Police took them to the police station from their hunger strike. But Sonamra did not back down. He did not break his fast. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Joint Secretary Prashant Lokhande went to meet Sonam on the 16th day of the fast on Monday.

At that time, Prashant handed over a letter sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to Sonam. The letter said that the Ministry of Home Affairs will hold a face-to-face discussion with the representatives of Ladakh on December 3. Sonam broke the hunger strike after receiving a written promise from the Centre.
